Part 1 Overall provisions regarding the police‘ employment of force | Section 1. Pursuant to section 15 in the Police Act, the police may employ force 1) for the purpose of preventing and averting risk of disturbance of the public peace and order, as well as peril to individual or public security 2) for the purpose of controlling whether someone is in possession of or carrying weapons, 3) for the purpose of terminating criminal activities, or in connection with inquiries and prosecution of criminal offences, 4) in the course of assisting other authorities, 5) within the scope of control and inspection tasks, as well as 6) for the purpose of determining whether a child or an intoxicated, sick or helpless individual is in danger. || Section 2. Pursuant to the Police Act section 16, paragraph 1, the police‘ employment of force must be indispensable and adequate, and may only take place with means and to an extent in reasonable proportion to the interest that they aim to protect. The determination of the propriety must involve the assessment of the risk of third parties getting hurt. |I Paragraph 2. Force must be employed as carefully as the circumstances allow for, and in a manner so that any injuries are limited to a minimum, cf. the Police Act section 16, paragraph 2.

Part 1 The purpose and the activities of the police | Section 1. The police must act for society’s safety, security, peace and order. The police must further this purpose by means of preventive, assisting and enforcing activities. || Part 2 The duties of the police | Section 2. The police are tasked with 1) preventing criminal offences, disturbance of the public peace and order, as well as peril to individual or public security, 2) averting risk of disturbance of the public peace and order, as well as peril to individual or public security, 3) terminating criminal activity, and investigating and prosecuting criminal offences, 4) rendering assistance to the citizens in other hazardous situations 5) carrying out assignments of control and inspection under present law, 6) rendering assistance to other authorities under present law, and 7) carrying out other assignments under present law or that otherwise connect naturally to the activities of the police.

I have translated the novel "Om søvn og mørke" from dialectal Norwegian into Danish, Åge Borchgrevink's non-fiction book on Breivik from Norwegian bokmål into Danish, and two of Åsne Seierstad's documentary novels into Spanish.

Knowledge is power. To know the nuts and bolts of the world is vital in changing it to the better—or to prevent it from getting worse. Knowledge may emancipate. Misinformation and manipulation impair self-determination and autonomy, individually and collectively. Without sound information as bedrock for formation of political opinion, decision-making, and action, individual agency and political sovereignty of the people are crippled. To know how and why misinformation works, being informed of the structural conditions fueling its circulation shapes resilience against manipulation. Technology does not determine history. Humans do. It is up to us to prevent the digital age turning into disruption of democracy and freedom.
