The currently fashionable solution to the uncontrolled migration is the grandiose idea of pairing migrants with empty job openings. All very good in and of itself.
But here is news for yous:
That will never stop those that do not fit into one of our gaping labour market holes from migrating to where hope is, as human kind has always done.
Also, migrants are not pawns we can move around on the European map as we please. Firstly, they go where they see opportunity, and where they are not completely alone:
like us, they need family and friends, even as they roam around desperately from country to country.
And secondly, unless we want a new class of de facto slaves with entire societies as slave owners, what do we do with those pawns when we no longer need them to fill a gap of ours?
Are they then completely void of any right in and of their own? If they leave the grid only to get caught, should they then spend the 180 days in holding cells worse than prison that gli Meloni foresees for the unnecesary migrants, awaiting deportation?
