SURELY | poem

Surely it's in your child's best interest
that you be quiet as a mouse
and strangle your love

Surely it's in your child's best interest
that you be grateful to us
for destroying all you had and all you were

Surely it's in your child's best interest
that you disappear into darkness
and never return
